ce ne rezerva viitorul? pentru mine niste articole care asteapta sa fie scrise, niste examene care asteapta sa fie luate. pentru ceilalti. cam acelasi lucru…

Shall we start?

Step 1: Launch Windows Live Movie Maker

This step is pretty much self explanatory. Just launch Windows Live Movie Maker.

Step 2: Adding your files

In Windows Movie Maker you an area called the Storyboard Area (at least that’s what I think it’s called). Either way click where it says and select all of your photos from the Tina Time-lapse folder with the name of your time-lapse. Movie Maker should’ve imported in proper name sequence. If not delete, them and insert them the following way:

• Select the first image in your sequence
• Then while holding shift select the last image in your sequence

Now all your images should be in the proper order

Step 3: Setting the duration for each image

This is the most important job we have to do. Select all of your images in the storyboard area (just select one then press Ctrl+A) and then go to the Edit tab of your Video tools.

The duration part is where you set how long every image is shown. If you want a 25 fps clip then you divide a second by 25 and you get the duration. For example a 1/25=0.04 or 1/30=0.3 for a 30 fps clip.

Be sure to check how your footage is played back. If you frames are skipped on the image is jaggy, then you might want increase your fps, therefore reduce the duration. The problem is that WLMM only can do only a minimum of 0.03.

If you have it set-up to 0.03 you might want to close some background application as the application tends to use a lot of ram when you set things to be this fast. You might also be prompted by Windows to close the application, due to its high memory usage.

Step 4: Exporting a movie

Once you’re happy with your end result you can publish your movie straight to YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, Windows Live Groups and SkyDrive. Don’t want to publish yet? You can save it on your computer.

But first we need to create a custom setting. Here’s how you do it:

Step 4.1: Creating a custom setting

Go to the Movie Maker button and select Create a custom setting from the Save Movie menu. Depending on which frame rate you want (25,30,24) and the dimension of your photos (they should be either 720p or 1080p, making a time-lapse video with a smaller resolution than that is pointless in my opinion) make the following settings:

• Name: Whatever you want (generally you want to specify the details of the preset, 720p @30fps or 1080p @25fps)
• Width: 1980/1280 (or what width your photos are)
• Height: 1080/720 (again, this depends on what you have)
• Bitrate: This should be as high as possible for good playback. If this is too low, you may end up with a grainy video, if this is too high, you may end with a too huge of a file. I think this should be roughly at 25.000 kbps or 30.000 kbps
• Frame rate: This should be the same as the frame rate you want. Just divide 1 by the duration you set and you should get your frame rate.
• Audio: If you have audio, I recommend 256 kbps, 44.1 kHz, stereo.

Hit save.

Step 4.1: Exporting using your custom setting

Now select your preset from your Save movie menu, select where to save and you should get a pretty nice time-lapse video in the end. If not, you can leave me a comment or email me robert.iagar@gmail.com and I’ll try and help how I can.

Dau cardul face ce trebuie cu el bag pinul si nimic… Nu a scos citanta nu a scos absolut nimic. Mai incearca, iar bag pinul, iar nimic… Nu scoate chitanta. Bun platesc cash si merg sa scot bani ca nu-mi ajungeau pentru alte cumparaturi… Scot banii, cer chitanta si surpriza. A tras bani la Penny! In jur de 50 de lei… Bun niste injuraturi, dar nu mai aveam nimic ce face. Era sambata ora 2 dupa masa si toate bancile se inchid la 1 jumate.

Luni merg la Banca Transilvania, banca la care am facut cardul si le explic situatia. Bun dupa ce stau vreo 10 minute in care caserita nu gasea scanner-ul in my computer sa faca o copie dupa bonul imi spune ca peste 2 zile se rezolva si imi intra banii inapoi. A facut cerere de refuz de plata sau ce saracia.

Ma suna peste o ora ca s-a rezolvat si ca banii sunt pe card sa-i folosesc. Nu m-am dus sa verific, doar nu ma suna aiurea…

Astazi surpriza. Scot niste bani de pe card si constat ca inca nu au intrat banii. Au trecut si cele 2 zile anuntate.

Nu am aruncat bonul buclucas pentru ca am simtit ca ceva nu e inregula.

Maine o sa mai dau inca o vizita pe la banca…

Inainte sa ma culc mi-a venit in minte un documentar de pe Discovery Science despre creierul uman. Acolo spunea ca in situatii extreme creierul face ca timpul sa se dilateze. Cum face asta? Nu are niciun sistem cuantic care manipuleaza materialul spatiu-timp (nu asa ii spune, dar ma rog). Pur si simplu functioneaza mai repede. Proceseaza mai multe lucruri intr-un timp mai scurt. Ganditi-va in felul urmator:

Cineva este pierdut in New York. Cum gasiti persoana respectiva mai repede? Daca o cauta o singura persoana? Sau daca o cauta tot orasul si cand ma refer la tot orasul ma refer chiar la tot orasul. Fiecare persoana din oras.

Cam asa functioneaza si asta.

Si acum am sai dau un save pentru ca mi-am dat seama ca teoria care o scriu nu are nici un sens. Si am sa va spun si de ce, dar dupa ce dorm cateva ore…

UPDATE:

Deci de ce nu are sens ce am scris. De fapt are. Cand te plictisesti creierul nu are ce face. Face foarte putine lucruri in n timp. De aia ti se pare ca trece timpul asa greu. Cand faci mai multe lucruri care iti plac, creierul e foarte activ si reuseste sa faca mai multe lucruri in acelasi n timp. E defapt un paradox. Ar zice Einstein, Hawking si Kaku ca depinde de masa unui obiect. Poate, dar in unele chestii nu e…

Problem: Each I time I get new tweets I have to empty the Collection. I tried to use the Contains method every time I added a new Tweet, but as Pete Brown said that will always return false.

Solution: Implement IEquatable<Tweet> on my Tweet class. Now when Contains check if the tweet exists in the list it will work.

Other example.

Say you have this custom class:

class User
{
      public string Name { get; set; }
      public long ID { get; set; }
}

Not going to bother INotifyPropertyChanged. This will be only about the IEquatable class.

Create a ICollection<User> and add some data:

ICollection<User> list = new List<User>();
list.Add(new User { Name = “Robert”, ID = 123409 });
list.Add(new User { Name = “Pete”, ID = 23410 });

Now. Say you have some form that creates a new User, check if it exists and then tries to add it. For sake of simplicity I won’t use a form:

var user = new User { Name = “Pete”, ID= 23410 });
if(!list.Contains(user))
     list.Add(user);

This won’t work. It’ll add it even you know that it contains it. Simply put “Two instances of a class representing the same tweet (or in this case user) are two different things.” (@Pete_Brown on Twitter)

Implement the IEquatable class and your class should look like this:

class User: IEquatable<User>
{
      public string Name { get; set; }
      public long ID { get; set; }

      public bool Equals(User other)
      {
            if(other.ID == this.ID)
                  return true;
            else
                  return false;
      }
}

Now Contains() will work properly and your List manipulations will work like a charm.

First create a Model that is derived from INotifyPropertyChanged and create the specific members:

Modify your OnPropertyChanged method and add a new method to handle the Timer’s Elapsed event:

Now I’m not sure how effective is this way but it seems to do the job for me. This only works for this kind of a scenario, because once the Model returns the TimeAgo, WPF’s DataBinding System doesn’t know if the property is changing over time. To it, it’s just a string. In other scenario’s when you change the property WPF’s DataBinding System knows that because of the OnPropertyChanged in set.

Simple, not sure if elegant but definitely works.
